Terms of Use
Last updated October 7, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and OJF, who runs Save Face (“we”, “us”). By using Save Face you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. Each commitment also has the terms you sign in the app. Where the two differ about that commitment, the signed terms apply, except that nothing is charged (see No charges).
Who can use Save Face
You must be 18 or older and able to enter a binding agreement. Keep your phone and email account secure: anyone who can read your sign-in codes can use your account. You’re responsible for what happens in your account.
How commitments work
- You choose your gym days and a start date. A commitment runs until you stop. Friends you add see your check-ins, and see when you miss.
- On each gym day, check in with a photo taken at the gym by your chosen deadline, between midnight and 2 a.m. (12:00, 1:00 or 2:00 a.m.), in the time zone your phone used when you signed. Commitments signed before 30 September 2026 keep 4 a.m. A check-in started before the deadline counts if it finishes uploading within an hour.
- You can change your deadline in Settings at any time without signing again. The change applies from your next gym day, never to a gym day that’s already open.
- You can change your gym days at any time. Changes start the next day, or the day after once it’s within four hours of your deadline (8 p.m. with a midnight deadline, 10 p.m. with 2 a.m.).
No charges
Save Face is free and doesn’t charge you for missed gym days. There are no subscriptions, fees or in-app purchases.
Before 6 October 2026, Save Face offered Committed, which charged a stake for each missed gym day. Committed has been switched off: nothing is charged for any gym day from then on, including under Committed terms you signed before, and you can’t go Committed or add a card. If something about a charge from before then looks wrong, email support@saveface.app with the date of the gym day and we’ll sort it out.
Photo checks and disputes
Check-in photos are assessed by an AI model and automated checks, which can make mistakes. If a photo is unclear or isn’t accepted, you can retake it while the gym day is open. Once the day has closed, you can dispute a photo that wasn’t accepted in the app, up to 14 days after the gym day. A person reviews every dispute, and their decision is final. If the review accepts your photo, it counts as a check-in.
Your photos must be real and taken at the gym on that gym day. Old, edited, reused or someone else’s photos aren’t accepted and may lead to your account being suspended.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account in the app under Profile → Settings → Delete account. Deleting your account ends your commitment and removes any card you saved before.
Your health
Save Face isn’t medical or fitness advice. Talk to a doctor before starting a new exercise routine, especially if you have a health condition. Don’t exercise when you’re injured or unwell: change your gym days in Settings instead. You exercise at your own risk.
Your content and friends
You own the photos you post. You give us permission to store, process and show them to your friends, and to friends of friends unless you turn that off, as needed to run Save Face, and to have them assessed as described in our Privacy Policy.
Don’t post anything illegal, sexual, violent, hateful or harassing, anything showing other people without their consent, or anything you don’t have the right to share. Don’t misuse Save Face, for example by gaming the photo checks, accessing other accounts or interfering with the service. You can report posts, people and nudge messages, and block people, in the app. A person reviews every report, and we may remove content, or suspend or ban accounts, that break these terms.
The service
We work to keep Save Face running and accurate, but we provide it “as is”. We don’t guarantee it will always be available or error-free, or that it will help you form a habit. We may change or stop features. If we stop Save Face, we’ll tell you in advance.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can’t be excluded, including the Australian Consumer Law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we’ll tell you in the app before it applies. A change never adds a charge to a commitment you’ve already signed.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore have jurisdiction. If you live in Australia, you may also bring a claim in your local courts.
